Monthly Wrap Up: February 2012

February has been crazy.

In terms of my personal life: I got a promotion, experienced an earthquake, and went on vacation. It’s been a pretty crazy month with a lot of ups and downs, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

I didn’t really talk about my promotion, because this blog is kind of my escape from all the stressful a.k.a work-related things in my life. I guess I just have to talk about it today. The promotion is cool because I got it after six months at the company, and not cool because it is so unbelievably stressful. After work today, I went to a local fastfood restaurant just to unwind, and decimated a burger, French fries, and a large Coke.

There was a burger, but I kind of, you know, ate it already.

On my way home, I decided to look around me, and realized how great my city is. Most of the time, I think the city is too small, and the place is pretty much dead after eight in the evening. Despite the small-towness of my so-called city, I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Sure, I want to go to New York, Paris, Tokyo, London, and all those other big cities, but only one place will ever be home to me.

In terms of reading and blogging, I only read four books this month. Also, I’ve been a little lazy when it comes to blogging, but I have excuses for that—the earthquake and my vacation. This blog will definitely be more active in March. I feel fresh now, and I’m definitely brimming with ideas for posts.

What about you? How was your February?

Here in the UK, February started off with snow and ended with balmy summer breezes. I was supposed to have finished editing my book but I'm only up to chapter three. On the plus side on Skyrim I can kill a dragon with one punch. I may have to reorganise my priorities.

That looks like Jollibee! There is a large Filipino population in my hometown in California and they actually have one there. I've only been there once.

Sorry to hear things are so stressful. Hopefully it will calm down a bit so that you can enjoy it.

Four books is good. It's one a week!

My February was insane and I can hardly think straight. Hang in there! ;)

Congrats on your promotion! I love it when bloggers include personal information in their posts, so thank you for sharing that.

So happy to hear about your promotion! I know it's going to be a lot more work, but hopefully it came with a big raise! My February has been crazy hectic too, but I am hoping that March is a little more calm and normal.

Four books is more than no books, and like you said, you've had a lot on your plate! yay for work promotions, vacations, and awesome cities -- I love that you celebrate where you live because I do that now and then and get all sentimental about Boston!

Congrats on the promotion, even if it is stressful at the moment. I had a promotion in September and it's only now that I'm fully coming to terms with my new role, so give it time...

I'm sorry to hear your job's gotten more stressful--hopefully that will ease up soon.

My February wasn't very productive either, so I'm hoping March will be a much better month.
